How to Set Up PayPal Standard in OpenCart 2.x
In this tutorial we will show you how to enable and configure PayPal Standard payment methods for your online store. Payment methods determine how your customers will pay for the purchased products.
OpenCart has a wide range of payment options available by default. In order to activate any of them you should first install and configure the payment module. This can be easily done via the OpenCart admin panel.
1. From your admin page, go to
Extension > Payments.
2. Look for the payment method
PayPal Standard & click to plus (+) icon to install the extension.
3. Under the General tab, enter your PayPal email address. Change the transaction method to Sale as that will make sure you receive the payments immediately. The authorization method will not allow you to receive payments instantly and useful for selling pre-order items from your website. Make sure to set the Status to Enabled to activate the extension.
4. Click Order Status tab. All the status are set to Cancelled initially. You can simply change all to the corresponding status from the drop down menu. Your customers see the status completed if no problems.
